Hi Laurie, When was about 2, he was in Children's Hospital for a couple of months for his GI problems. He developed a bad rash and the nurses there told me about " butt paste " . They make it with 1 part Desitin [or zinc oxide paste], 1 part Nystatin, 1 part Hydrocortizone cream, and 1 part triple anti-biotic ointment [or Neosporin]. They guaranteed it to work and it did every time. I would mix it up a head of time and use it all day. I have told my kids about it when my grandkids have diaper rashes and it has worked for them as well. Somebody mentioned letting his bottom get as much air as possible and I have found that helps as well. Maybe you could try a pull-up during the daytime for a couple of days since they tend to be somewhat looser than diapers? Hope that helps. Guest guest
What worked for was the Nystatin or an over the counter antifungal cream Lotrimin which were prescribed or referred to us by his physician. Also had him soak in lukewarm water with Aveeno, had to supervise or he would drink the water and then apply the ointment afterwards. I tried to let him air dry for awhile but he is so particular, got to stick to the routine of wearing his white boxer brief. What a difference as when he only wanted to remove his clothing all the time and be in his birthday suit and then when allowed, nope. Laurie good luck at the doctors office. Guest guest
I had a rash on my butt, when I was in Alaska with my mom. Turns out it was the laundry detergent. Now I know what kind of laundry detergent I can't buy. rebecca > Try Hydrocortizone them apply vaseline over it.
