I was told that it was a nervous reaction that typical people initially do also. Thinking back when I was a teen, walking down the street with a few friends one fell down. The girl actually did get hurt but initially we laughed. Made sense to me Charlyne, I agree (although with kids with autism, it's different). My mom was THE worst!!!!!! She ALWAYS laughed when someone fell.....especially herself. Even now, if we see someone fall, my kids will say, " Nan is probably ROLLING up in heaven " . LOL Also, we have a family friend who used to laugh during viewings and funerals!!!!!! How sick!!!!! LOL Donna

Guest guest
Add to the list of inappropriate laughing. I've noticed it when he is extrememly tired, upset or funny. I was told by an adult with autism that sometimes its because their brain processes things slowly that there could of been something funny in the past and are just reacting to it. I would also have to agree with what Charlyne had mentioned, too. Sometimes I startled when its late at night and he is sitting on his bed rocking and stimming than the male change outburst of this laugh and I'm asleep will wake the you know what out of me. has a deep voice now. Never noticed until he has been expressing by vocalizing his wants and needs. Especially with the " NO or leave me alone " .
