Hi Charlyne,

Now that you pointed this out I guess I better thank the staff for applying good

care. After reading what Zeb was put through, I should be thankful. Of course I

did not like what happen to Zeb, so I can imagine how you feel and your the mom.

Made it in last night, what memories when I was around the DFW area. Still

remembered my shortcut routes. It was a quick trip in and out to pick up my son

Rick's computer that one of my oldest son's closet friend had built for him. Did

not have time to contact my family and friends, but arrived safely home. Plus

this gave an opportunity to enjoy a road trip on the van. Well worth it.

He did seem to feel better, no more runs, not alot of appetite, slow mode, very

quiet, rocked and stimmed. Hope I did not tire him out too much. What a way to

spend our Anniversary, but to me I just wanted to see my middle son Rick happy

and out and about as a family.

Did give up attending the local ASA Support group meeting and sometimes I hate

missing it, but for some reason it was like I needed a break and wanted to do

something different.

Hope that Zeb is coming along. When did Zeb return to school after this

traumatizing issue? How was his return back?

Hugs!

Re: Re:Irma

Hi Irma,

Zeb has had that stomach virus twice in three weeks time. If I wash out one

more dirty pair of underwear! I didn't take Zeb to the ped either. I hope

feels better. I'm also gald to hear that the school took such good care

of

him. I wished I could say the same for Zeb's school. Wishing you a happy

anniversary and a wonderful weekend.

LMAO OMGosh!! I would have died a thousand deaths. I guess I'm

glad Tristan isn't talking that much or that clearly. Tristan seems

to be doing better. The dose of his Strattera will be bumped up

tonight to 25 mg. Now, to make sure is dad continues with the

treatment when Tristan goes to visit him.

Hi Charlyne,

Is it that time for the events to kick in? Seems like everyone needs your

expertise. No problem if you can not respond right back I understand. Good luck

with everything you have going on and hope you catch up with your paperwork.

Take care.

Lots of hugs!

Hi ALL,

I am reading, sort of. I have events this weekend to get ready for, tax time

and four PPT meetings to get ready for with other children. I have to do some

school observations etc and have been attending workshops with the state sped

resource center meeting the out of state training consultants. I am very

behind with my paperwork. I may be quiet for awhile, sorry.

Hi Charlyne,

Hope the turn out was a good one for you and you did have those lines. Do you

have help on events like this?

I hear ya on what you're enjoying with the Special Ed stuff. Last weekend I went

to our Autism Society Support Group and this lady was awesome. Thought of you as

she was educating us and I commend you for what you do for tha family you have.

On the communication device I did ask for it once upon a time and they told me

that did not qualify for it as they did not think he would know how to

use it. Duh! Here so naive on not knowing this stuff back then will now request

for it again.

I'm also contacting a service that will provide some assistive technology

equipment and TEACH and I on how to use it here at home. You see a caring

person like the the lady I heard who shared so much info which you do, makes a

lot of difference and empowers me towards this battling for his rights and to

address his appropriate needs. I can see why you enjoy this field its worth

every energy of your time. I would like to hopefully have built enough support

of information at least by May. It is finally sinking in my hard headed head. It

is alot but worth it when I see some progress.

I even found out that if I did not see ESY fit for my son I could request for

alternative outside programs for him and prove to the school that this will not

help him and they will pay for it. I did sign the ESY form for him to attend

this year. In the past I have done the same but then observed him or when I hear

any little remark from the ESY teacher about having any remark about his

behavior I would withdrawal him from it. So far the program they have set up is

similar to what his class are trying to teach him. I know it always does more

harm than him learning due to the short classes but we shall see how this turns

out.

I will concentrate on writing every thing down to make sure he is covered by

every stitch of his rights! Next year school year as he will be attending half

day with his ALE class by noon or vice versa he'll attend a different facility

for his vocational training. Now I'm wondering with what I want for him at

school, what about the vocational training facility? I do know that someone has

autism training at this place but what if he still needs to learn the basics as

he missed out on so much?

Maybe he does need the change and may succeed and I'm just worrying wondering if

its going to be a waste of battling some of the services for him. I'm totally

clueless when it comes to the vocational training facility I guess I better make

time for a tour so that I could get an idea. I better add this to my To Do List.

Too much to learn and I'm TRYING real hard not to get upset over what could of

been done on what I've learned when he was younger as its spilled milk not to

cry over. I wonder about the other parents with their High School kids of how

much have they learned? Sorry there I go spacing off wondering about the other

High School students and I should just concentrate on my son. I just want to

make sure that the Special Ed Funds are used wisely and not returned to the

State and many with DD are treated as individual human being to the community.

Lots of hugs to you for what you do I do admire you so much.

His First Holy Commuion will be during regular mass time and we will be the only

ones to know that this will be his special occasion and it seems like he does

understand and has accepted taking the Host at home well that we have been

practicing on without any reactions to it and cooperating nicely. So cute. I do

have a feeling that many of the parish members that have grown to known

will also cherish our special moments. This will probably be around the first

Sunday of April as my dh has been having to work. Too much going on here with

and my other sons and then with one of my sisters that have returned to

Texas and living here in the same city as I. Her 2 daughters are also making

their Confirmation soon and I'm Godmother to her 16 y/o who I will also be

sponsoring on her special occasion. My 17y/o son has been busy too with his

preparation for his Confirmation and preparation for him volunteering at St.

Lukes Hospital again which he has enjoyed. Then I've been having to watch my 3

mos old Grandson Noah as his mom is working. Such a joy! Uncle is just

enjoying his time with his nephew when we go out on our outings. To add to my

long message here and sorry, what I've noticed with and the dog Buddy

whom has also has grown. I see coming around sitting next to Buddy and

the dog does not try to climb, jump or scratch him as he is still pretty playful

he just sits still and allows him to pet him on the head and even allows

to play with his toy which he'll stim with and of course I tell that its

Buddy's toy. We even catch trying to want to sit on the dog. The dog

really understands something because with everyone its a different story, the

dog is so silly but not with . Makes me wonder what goes through Buddy's

mind, does he know? What a beautiful creature, just to know my dh wanted us to

get rid of him. Now I catch my dh asking for buddy. Sometimes when I get upset

with my dh I'll tell him something like " don't talk to me, you're still in the

doghouse " . He just starts to laugh as he'll tell me that Buddy has it made being

under our roof and lives like a Prince according to him. : )

Speaking about stimming/transition toy, I believe we lost another one this past

Sunday and has not really slept well for the past 2 nights. Eh! Time to

find another one. He did wake up pretty cooperative for school this morning so I

shall see how he survives another day without it. Thanks for reading this far. I

apologize this was long. Its my down time but leaving soon to the stores,

preparing for next months trip for some ABA/VB Training with Dr. Carbone as the

guest speaker.

Hugs!

Hi Irma,

I have a St Pat's road race next saturday and the parade on sunday in

Holyoke, Ma. The parade is the largest in New England and is televised about 3

hrs.

long. I am right on the parade route. If the weather is decent I will have

lines for hours. Oh, I need those lines! Contract time is here to finalize my

season. It seems that I run in all directions this time of the year. I like my

business but really enjoy the sped stuff, crazy huh! My (kids) depend on me to

do the right thing by them. I advocate for the kids that have parents that

truly cannot, thankfully only four. I will be reading as much as I can but

little

time to respond. I will answer any questions if I know them anytime. Are you

working on 's program for next year? Have you ever asked for a

communication device for him? It doesn't have to be complicated but something

small and

simple that he could ask to go to the men's room or have a drink etc. When's

the First Communion going to take place?

Charlyne,

I hope the alarm system works out for you so you don't have to worry so

much. I know we all have to watch our kids closely, but Zeb is really smart.

Brook wouldn't plan an escape, but has taken off in the past. Fortunately we

haven't had any escapes recently, although I am a little concerned for next fall

when he changes schools. I would really enjoy meeting you if you come out to

visit your sister. Would Zeb come with you?

Oh how I can relate to this? It is so frustrating to me. We have this huge

sock and shoe issue with and I. Whenever he starts getting the teeniest

bit stressed he will refuse to put on socks or shoes for me. Really depressing

when he will do it for his 3 year old brother but not me.

He also won't let Dad in the bathroom with him. And he has a certain way of

dressing or putting on pjs on with each of his therapists.
