 A Special Alert for NDSC Members in CALIFORNIA, COLORADO, FLORIDA, TEXAS,

MICHIGAN and NEW YORK:

 

Please e-mail your Representative, listed below, urging him or her to attend a

briefing of the Congressional Down Syndrome Caucus, which is being held

tomorrow, Tuesday, October 25th, at 4:30 PM in Room 121 of the Cannon Office

Building. Down Syndrome Briefing  The briefing has been organized by

Congresswoman Mc Rodgers (R-WA), who is co-chair of the Down

Syndrome Caucus, as well as the mother of a son with Down syndrome.  She will

be joined by her fellow co-chairs, Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), Pete Sessions

(R-TX), and Van Hollen (D-MD).

 

Presenters will seek to improve awareness of Down syndrome research and how it

can benefit not only the lives of people with Down syndrome, but through

translational and collaborative research, the general public as well.  Expert

presentations will be made by Drs. Maddux (NICHD), Ed McCabe ( Crnic

Institute for Down Syndrome), Mobley (UC San Diego Down Syndrome Center

for Research and Treatment), Harpold (Down Syndrome Research and

Treatment Foundation), Reeves (s Hopkins University), and Sally Shott

(Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center).  Additional information will

be shared by Whitten of Global Down Syndrome Foundation and Madeleine
