Guest guest
Still not sure how to post to individual. Anyway, thank you for the hug Licensed Personal Care Facility (www.belmontvillage.com) I visited appx. ten places over a year before I personally chose Belmont. Unique program esp. for early stages of dementia, a step before secured area. Licensed nurses, weekly dr. visits, 2- call buttons, personal aides, and hands-on care with ADL. Full-time activities assistant (7 days) who cue for day-long participation. Mom has an apt. with all her favorites things. We created a 'care-plan' depending upon Mom's current needs. She will be evaluated every three months. It is $4525.00 a month plus two meds. It's her money, let her go out in style........... Mom (83) is in the best place she could be for now. She is busy enough that she does not have time to 'feel sorry herself,' which was a common pattern. They excercise everyday so I am sure that will help with her stiff body. I spoke directly with the program director yesterday and she is seeing confusion. I can tell by talking to Mom on the phone, she makes no sense. Only in the next moment to make perfect sense? I miss her everyday but she did not want to live with any of her kids. I have lived away from her for twenty-five yrs. and my life and family is in Va. I got to spend three months with her and I am so thankful I was able to do it. She was so childlike but with a kind and gentle touch. I miss my Mom.
