Guest guest
I'm so happy you have some answers Laurie, cause even if it hurts, at least you know and can start on the right road. Get some much needed sleep and feel better. Gail :-) Hi all, back from the doc loved him we have found him after 31/2 years he understands the other doc problems says he hears it alot well hes ds he turned out to know exactly what we go thru with medical and school and all.He asked questions from pregnancy to now.Spent a real long time with us watching Mic He knew about illness and surgery already had some records for him.Not all.He dxed Mic PDD hes not sure which one he fits but will take time to figure it out.I asked him if we could skip the dx and he says we need it.I am shocked alittle he says Mic is obviously in the asd spectrum and I never brought up anything but sensory. He told me get the communication board sign talk do anything you can to communicate with him.I had no clue it was that obvious at all.Mic is in tough shape he says we will pull it together you will lose skills and gain skills. expect regression now and for awhile.Eye crossing is just muscles and can be fixed.Steve and I both cried all the way home over something we already knew because now its real.We will get further with duel dx he is not typical ds at all.I couldnt believe this guy knew he just knew played with a light and dangled things at him and gave us hope because Mic played peek a boo with him he says well that s great hes interacting with me but wont let me anywhere near him.He says theres such a broad spectrum we have to figure out where we fit.We feel sad and glad at the same time.was a good day really am very confident in this man.I could just tell by the way he tried to interact with mic he knew what mic was all about. Finally someone that gets it.promised us he would pull it all together for us wants all Mics paper work from all docs.yeah He thinks we may get be better off with nurses and docs and how they handle him thats the problem how they approach him.I am alittle numb.Guess I didnt expect what I got.I knew it but thought I must be overeacting to Mics behavior. ..Back to him in a month.Took my email address thats a first for a doc.ok am rambling I am so tired and sick bad bad cold.I need bed. Dad is home for Mic today. Laurie

Guest guest
Hi Laurie, I am so sorry for the dual diagnos but you knew it in your heart. Someone finally understood and is going to help Mic. I am so relieved you found that special person. I think you have nothing to fear and a good reason to concentrate on Mic's health. I apologize for not responding the last few days to your posts. I have had a few problems in my family and Zeb is sick with diarhea again and huge boils on his legs. It's always something. You have been in my thoughts and prayers each day. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 11 DS/OCD
Guest guest
Hi laurie, I am so happy that you feel this comfortable with this new doc. The most important thing is getting Mic to feel better. I can always tell when Zeb is getting sick with weird behavior. It just isn't with Mic. You may find a difference once he feels well anyway. You will better be able to handle the school needs at that point. I just have Zeb sit in the hot tub for the boils and use antibiotic cream. It was the diarhea that was the problem and issues with school. You have enough to deal with but I thankyou for your concern. Keep us posted.
