Guest guest
Ibuprofen [generic for Advil/Motrin] works well for but we can't give it to him because it makes his stomach bleed. We give him acetominophen [generic for Tylenol] for aches and pains and it seems to work ok for him. Thankfully, does not run fever so it hasn't been an issue for us. I buy the generic brand of either acetominophen or ibuprofen...they are all the same; just different manufacturers and the generics always cost less. Tylenol does not work for my kids either. With my kids, the rule I followed was Tylenol for fevers under 102 and Motrin over 102. When my 18 year old was just recently sick, the Motrin did nothing and Tylenol worked. When Alison, my 11 year old was pitching a fever of 104.8 this past x-mas, only Motrin did the trick. I haven't had to give Maddie Tylenol or Motrin in years....BOY, am I afraid that statement is going to come back and bite me!!!! Guest guest
Interesting that y'all had mentioned this as I had attended a Medical Conference for Autism awhile back and had spoken to a well known Allergist/ Immunologist that had briefly told me the same thing to only give my son Motrin as I had mentioned that Tylenol did not seem to help him. On this other list that I belong to, there is a discussion about Tylenol. Now, I'm curious to see why? I had only read the subject lines. Irma Re: tylenol We also use Motrin or Advil.
