Dear nne and the NYCCAT Board,

Thank you for notifying us of the Board meeting. I remember at the June

conference that there was significant discussion regarding the board meetings

being open meetings, and the late notice of the Board meeting that was held last

week may have made it difficult for some to attend.

As you know, I have indicated my wish to be involved in the workings of NYCCAT,

particularly on the development of the music therapy page of the website, and

I'd like to know if there was any discussion of the website at the meeting.

It appears that there might need to be some more discussion regarding how

meetings are announced and how the information is disseminated. In particular,

I have two requests of the NYCCAT Board:

1. That the NYCCAT Board announce meetings one week in advance.

2. That provisions for a summary of the meeting be posted to this group in some

reasonable time frame after the meeting.

It is not my intention to add any undue burden to the Board's work. Rather, it

is my hope that any burden created by doing of the good work would be lessened

by allowing those who would like to participate to do so.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

In the Spirit of Service,

Carol Ann Blank, LCAT, LPC, FAMI, MMT, MT-BC

> Dear NYCCAT,

>

> This year's conference was a great time. Participants were able to focus on

> their individual professional circumstances with the facilitation of a few

> experientials and interactive feedback as well as a thorough information

> session about the state of NYCCAT and licensure. We were also able to make

> new relationships, find support from each other in our career paths, have

> the opportunity to learn about ourselves, take stock of our present

> circumstances and pay attention to our intuition as to where we would like

> to go next. It was also a great opportunity for the board and CATs to meet

> each other, putting a face to our names and getting to know us and our

> endeavors. After all, our endeavors are yours too.

>

> I hope those of you who were not able to attend will still consider being a

> part of the board. As such, you are invited to attend our next board

> meeting.

>

> *It is short notice, but if you can and would like to attend an open board

> meeting, we are hosting one tonight at 6:45pm in lower Manhattan.* If you

> are interested, contact me by 6:00pm today (Wednesday) by e-mail or call me

> at .

>

> If you cannot make the meeting this evening but would still like to be a

> part of the board, please contact me and I will let you know about other

> up-coming meetings. Through feedback from conference participants, the

> board learned of the ideas and interests participants had that would help

> bring us together. Our growth can only happen by your participation in this

> process. There are many ways to stay connected, some just as simple as

> asking questions that are relevant to your work today.

>

> Again, on behalf of NYCCAT we look forward to staying in touch with you.
