Call for Proposals for the Illinois Art Therapy Conference- October 2011

Dear Friends in Art Therapy,

I am pleased to announce the call for proposals for this year’s Illinois Art Therapy Association Conference: Community Collaboration and Creativity in Change: Art Therapy in 2011. The conference will be held in October of this year, at the Adler School of Professional Psychology’s new campus in downtown Chicago.

As a community in Illinois, we collaborate with other art therapists, other social service professionals, and other fields of service. We seek to affect positive change for our clients and the world, utilizing our creativity to take on the challenges and changes that have risen in mental healthcare in the 21st century. We come together once a year to celebrate the strength of our community, our success in collaboration, the power of our creativity, and the possibilities that arise in times of change.

We invite you to submit proposals that capture the spirit of Community Collaboration and Creativity in Change. Your presentation must fall into one of the following categories: paper presentation, panel discussion, workshop, poster presentation, or performance/short film. In addition, we ask that you specify which of the following presentation tracks your proposal represents: clinical approaches, contemporary issues and current trends, community/studio, multicultural approaches, or research and program development. Please include at least three (3) quantifiable objectives for your presentation. For example: ‘Participants will learn four (4) ways in which creating self-portraits can aid in recovering from substance abuse dependence’.

The attached form provides further instructions on how to submit your proposal. You can fill out the form by clicking on the blanks and typing in your information. Remember to SAVE the form using your LAST NAME and the word PROPOSAL before submitting the file via email to iataconference2011@.... By submitting proposals digitally, we will save lots of paper, helping the 31st IATA conference go green!
