I never leave Mic with anyone but his Dad,everyone offers but we just dont

never have.We went to walmart without him on day and we had a rotton time no fun

without him.

That's cause you went to Walmart!!!!!!!! I was thinking more of a dinner

out...LOLOLOL

Mic is your first and only, right Laurie? That has a lot to do with it.

Keep in mind, however, that if you can get some respite, it is balm to the

soul. Certainly, it's hard to do, but we all have our breaking points. I am

very very blessed, I know, in having enough folks to watch Maddie. That's

not to say that I'm *comfortable* with all who watch her. But as my one SIL

says to me, " It's my job to do NOTHING but watch Maddie til she comes home and

I have my husband, and two kids to do it with me...I don't have to do all the

other things you have to...so trust me " . I have over the years and I get

plenty of time away. Duff's family takes Maddie a lot for us, but I can't

leave her with anyone in my family. I adore them, and am closer to them

naturally than Duff's family, but Maddie intimidates them. I don't judge

them.....it's not that they don't love Maddie...they just know they can't handle

her....s'ok with me. Honestly, the one I am MOST comfortable leaving her

with is

Jen, the teacher at her school. And I am lucky in that I can pay her so as

to make it worth her while to keep coming back (although, she adores Maddie so

much, she'd probably do it for nothing). Having 5 kids, Duff and I always

felt that the most important gift we can give them as parents is the example of

a loving relationship, so we always nurtured that. That being said, you

don't have to go out of the home to do that. Duff and I have our romantic

Friday night dinners (not tonight though....am sick sick sick). I cook us up a

meal (cooking is my passion) and we open some wine, light the candles and try

as best we can to pay attention to each other.....uh hem, often wiht Maddie

on Duff's lap...;-)

Oh, and I take LOTS of baths (many of my books are twice their size from

falling in the tub...LOL)

Yes, and then there's my walks!!!! Five times a week. I actually started

doing that because it was the ONLY time I was ever alone...had nothing to do

with fitness...LOLOL

As you can see, I believe in getting my relief time in...it rejuvenates me

and enables me to handle the poop messes, doc visits, escapes, and all else that

comes with Maddie (AND 4 other children, who BTW I have learned...never come

without issues)

But we're all different and get our *balm* whatever way suits us. The

important thing is to recognize when you need it before it's too late!!!!

Oh Gail, email me privately for those. You have to remind me also, which

ones I made. I make lots of different kinds of salmon and different kinds of

tomatoes...I can't remember which I did that night. Was it the salmon coated

with rice paper?
