Hi All:

I am a newly diagnosed bronch patient who has been having troubles for years.

Yes, I have GERD. I'm on many meds for asthma/bronch. BUT, I have a

ghastly time trying to get the thick mucous out. I've had no suggestions from

the

docs.

What are the early, basic things you learned to do. I'm 69 yo, retired, on

Social Security and a pension from work. I have no extra money for anything -

constantly robbing to pay for daily living so cannot afford

anything of much expense. I am having another test on my CPAP July 12 to see if

the

pressure was set too high in the last test. I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea

about 12+ years ago. Medicare might cover some breathing treatments but I

don't know and the doctor hasn't suggested them.

Please just tell me anything you can about the most simple (and cheap) things

you can suggest. I guess even if they cost a bit, maybe when I get to see

the doctor again I could talk to him about them.

Bye for now,

Rose Ann in Iowa

Rose Ann,

In my email to you I mentioned Medicaid. I forgot that you said that you were on Medicare. If you also have supplemental insurance, you should not have to pay for any of the medications that I am on. I note that you have had a sleep study and are planning to have another one in July. I had my first sleep study about ten days ago, but have not learned the results at this time.

Welcome to our world! ;)

Drink water. Lots and lots of water. I drink between two and three

liters of water each day during summer, between one and two liters

daily during winter. Yes, your bladder at first will feel like it's

going to explode, but it will make handling all the mucus easier. :)
