Guest guest
There is a possible chance you are allergic to your dog! I can't get around dogs at all or I get extremely sick. They can be washed over and over and I still get sick. I want a dog so bad too! > > My girlfriend and I were living together in the same mold investment house. After 6 weeks we realized there was a mold problem so we moved out, she moved back with her old room mate and I moved to a hotel. I only brought my dog that's been bathed regularly and was feeling ok but because of a different medical condition I was put in the hospital for 6 days. > > When I
Guest guest
Got rid of the dog yesterday. I plan on moving to a new hotel room later today > > There is a possible chance you are allergic to your dog! I can't get around dogs at all or I get extremely sick. Guest guest
There are so many things you could be reacting to! There may be mold in her car (happened to me twice). She may be using toxic fabric softener sheets or perfume or shampoo that, now that you are over sensitized, you may be reacting to. There are a million things besides mold that just kills me so it's really up to you to start to eliminate things one by one until you find the culprit. > > My girlfriend and I were living together in the same mold investment house. Guest guest
Did your family take him? I'm allergic to both my cats but can't figure out what to do about it. Thanks > > > > There is a possible chance you are allergic to your dog! I can't get around dogs at all or I get extremely sick. They can be washed over and over and I still get sick. Guest guest
Tug, sorry you had to lose the dog. there is info. out there that animal dandriff can be quite moldy. when you think about everything they pick up out of the air, off the ground, ect. with all that hair no wonder they are not well tolerated. better as outdoor pets. > > > > There is a possible chance you are allergic to your dog! Guest guest
we have a toy poodle, as hypoallergenic as a dog can get, we have had him with us, and not, it doesn't affect my kid's health, so we have decided that the benefits to us of having his happy, wiggly, warm fluffy body to love and snuggle outways any negatives for us. sue >Got rid of the dog yesterday. Guest guest
I have two cats that smelled moldy after my mold problem but over time the smell disappeared. They will shed it off. I couldn't wash them because they didn't tolerate water but if you can shampoo, a small amount of ammonia in dog shampoo might have accomplished alot. Eventually dog or cat will shed if they are in healthy air.
Guest guest
I honestly don't believe it could be anything but the mold and cross contamination that's causing my symptoms. My immune system is ao weak that I catch a cold atleast once a month every month during cold and flu season, someone sneezes and I catch a cold that's how bad it is. Because my immune system is so weak I can almost guarantee that I'm going to lose everything I own and more than likely have to file bankruptcy all because I bought a townhouse that had mold and yes, I had it inspected. I don't know what I've done to deserve this but it mustve been pretty bad > > > > My girlfriend and I were living together in the same mold investment house. Guest guest
But Barb, if you have allergies and/or chemical sensitivity, having pets in the home can aggervate your condiction. > > I have two cats that smelled moldy after my mold problem but over time the smell disappeared. Guest guest
some may tolerate better than others. like with my sinuses problems, it does really matter how clean the pets are, just breathing the hairs up my nose for very long can cause me a world of pain. I have even gotten some pretty bad frontal headackes from spending some time in a home with a cat. love them, but the longer that cat loved on me the worse my sinuses got. didn't smell anything but those hairs were driveing my sinuses nuts. > > > > I have two cats that smelled moldy after my mold problem but over time the smell disappeared. Guest guest
Hi, This is not medical advice, but have you considered taking any immune system boosters to help reduce the colds and flus? Vitamin D?? (have your vitamin d level checked firts), cod liver oil, elderberry syrup, vitamin c, as well as garlic and zinc when you first start to come down with a cold??? sue >I honestly don't believe it could be anything but the mold and cross >contamination that's causing my symptoms. > >My immune system is ao weak that I catch a cold atleast once a month >every month during cold and flu season, someone sneezes and I catch a >cold that's how bad it is. >
Guest guest
Agreed. For me too it can vary from cat to cat how long I can tolerate it. But my wife and friends have at times seen me react to cat dander on a friend's clothes while eating at a restaurant or at our home. My eyes swell up and get very itchy, sinuses get stuffy, etc. On many occasions, I didn;t even know they had cats. some may tolerate better than others. like with my sinuses problems, it does really matter how clean the pets are, just breathing the hairs up my nose for very long can cause me a world of pain. Guest guest
Sam, Im the same way. my younger sister resently was diagnosed with some allergies includeing mold. she doesn't listen very well, lol's I keep telling her to get the cat and dog outside. grrr. she lived is a house for several years that after my exposure, the few times I visited her and spent the night it just wiped me out. I kept telling her she had a mold problem in the walls between her washer/dryer and shower in the bathroom that were right next to her bedroom. her cat, lol's has this slight problem of likeing to sleep on peoples heads, if she likes them and animals always like me. she's had health problems that can be related to toxic mold exposure. so far she has took my advice to get rid of carpet but thats about it. I have a older brother that came down with diabetes not to long after getting trapped in a corn bin while unloading the corn into it and he says yes, he did get pretty sick from that but the diabetes didn't show itself until he went through a stressful divorse and the doc must of told him stress would play a role. most people dont get that theres different forms of stress I've wondered and tried to get him to lay off all corn products just to see if it made a difference in how he fells. so both are such believers in what the doctors say, you cant get them to consider other views. my sister was rather pissed at me for a long time for not hanging out like we always used to, I think shes understanding my reactivity to many things but I think she considers it all allergies. it makes me pretty sad really. we were all always very close but my illness and the not understanding of it has hurt us all. just all the more reason to fight to get this illness reconized and to the publics attn. it doesn't affect just you but everyone you love,in alot of different ways. > > Agreed.
