this may be from far left field, but could you possibly dissolve it in a small

amount of hot water & then mix in a dose of liquid tylenol/motrin? ya know, make

it into a liquid. just an idea. don't know if it'll work w/ the consistency of

whatever is inside. or would that be considered the same thing as opening it up?

I used to open capsules & mix it w/ motrin b/c he likes the orange taste. I

guess not being able to open it is a big problem. didn't the dr offer any

options?

strattera

Hi,

Sorry to seem to only ask questions here...

Karrie is now on Depakote and Risperdal. Dr. Capone is adding Strattera.

Only problem is that I've been told it is only in capsule form and that I

can't open the capsule. Karrie can't swallow capsules/pills yet.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Sue mom to Kate 14 and Karrie 7 w/ds and other issues

Dr. Capone wanted to try Strattera with Maddie too, but we couldn't for the

same reason. You can't open the capsule because it takes on a *burning*

sensation inside...not good. We tried adderall with Maddie, but I didn't like

that either. She became very reclusive, unhappy, and stopped interacting with

us. For now, she is still on just the risperdal. She has lost 3 pounds

in the last two weeks....we are trying to keep her from eating so much...it

appears to be working somewhat.

Elie has been taking Strattera fir AD only. Side effect- he seemed

marginally happier but not really any change in behavior. It was supposed

to make him more " in tune " . He has a new young teacher who is CLUELESS

about behavior mod and consistantly teaches down to him. I believe his

behaviors are thought out and in response to an intolerable situation. So

we are stopping a maximum dose of Strattera.

Tjhanks for input.
