Guest guest
Hello Patsy, my little man is a Noah also, he is 3 years old. He was dx'ed in August last year with moderate autism. He also has sensory integration dysfunction. Last week his labs came back positive for celiac disease. Noah has always shown signs of autism even as an infant. I know what you mean as far as heartwrenching!!!!!!! He tries hard to verbalize but just can't however he does use sign language and has 20 sign words he uses. He sometimes needs a verbal prompt to get him to use them for what he wants but he will use them. What state are you in? How are the schools and what supports does your Noah get? (Noah 3, ds/asd) newly diagnosed hi. my son noah is 4 and has ds/asd. sadly, he has lost a lot of his verbal skills. he was never a great communicator per se, but had an excellent vocabulary for labeling objects in books, life, etc. and answering questions. also, his articulation has worsened. but, it's not that he no longer knows the words because on a good day he'll say them, it's just that some days he just can't seem to get them out. of course, it's very frustrating and heartbreaking to see the loss of skills. in our case, that's part of the diagnosis. one of the most difficult things for me though with this whole autism thing is that it's not predictable and it seems to evolve, both for better and for worse. best of luck, patsy
