Guest guest Posted September 16, 2001 Report Share Posted September 16, 2001 Hi Everyone; I've been looking for solutions for the last few days and a few things have come out that might be of interest to other Canadian IgAN patients. The Kidney Foundation, a recently formed organization based in Ottawa, (and run by reputable people including a member of the order of Canada) can help with situations like the one J. and I are currently suffering through. Our insurance plan has a 6 week gap from September to mid October because of the nature of administrating the plan to a bunch of workers and students whose contracts typically change on a yearly basis. During that period we will be expected to pay for J's drugs up front and be reimbursed. Problem is, we can't afford it. J's drugs cost around$600. per month. (For those of you who read my last posts my estimate of our expenses coming in at around $2000. monthly is a figure that does not include the cost of J's drugs. Apparently the kidney foundation will help us if my school can't do it. Apparently they can help with other things as well.
