Hi All,

Well I am trying this potty training once again.  Isabella is now 3 1/2 and

still not trained.  I am baffled and do not know what to do.  I have tried a

star system and gave a prize when she got 10 stars.  I have tried candy after

she goes.  I have bought her a doll that goes and even has a toilet.  I swear

she does the opposite of everything I want her to do.  Any suggestions.

I have to agree 110% that a " potty dance " does the trick.  We got our whole

family on board for that one and Kaylee would go on the potty just to see the

show :)

Also, it's kind of messy but when I felt that she was ready to be potty trained

I took a few days off and let her run around in just her cotton panties.  I

think that it made her more aware when there was not a diaper there to sop up

the mess.  It didn't take long for her to associate the feeling of needing to

use the bathroom with the consequences of not using the potty (feeling wet and

icky).

Hope that helps,SandyKaylee (4yrs)

Hi,

Rose is 3 and we too are trying potty training. For a long time Rose has been

using the potty and big toilet but

only when we asked her.

Now she did ask us yesterday for the first time and we made a huge fuss.

I think this is because we left her nappy off. If we put her in pants she seems

to think it's the same as the nappy and just pees but with nothing on she asks

for the toilet. May be try that at home for a few days.

Our OT did say if it didn't progress over a few days to stop altogether and try

again in a few weeks.

Good luck!

I have to tell you I have also done a potty dance and even made up a song.  She

likes the song and dance but still will not go unless I ask her if she has to.

Most of the time she tells me after she went.
