Hi Ash,

I know this is rather a late reply to your post!. I have just noticed

it while reading through old lists.

I wonder if you mean that your lady had a transfer rather than a

replacement. I too had very lax ligaments and had that surgery (many

years before TKRs were available). I had EXACTLY the same problem and

it was eventually resol;ved by removing the screws. I had both legs

done originally and had the same problem in each. After both screws

were removed all was OK and then,when I had the left knee done again

because everything had stretched again they did it WITHOUT using

screws.

Finally I had a TKR on that leg.

The surgery to remove the screws was not bad and didn,t take long so

I think she can be reassured.
