How about have each child create theri won book called Moving:Thinking and Feeling--suing stories and drawings

To: NYCCAT Sent: Thu, January 14, 2010 11:22:03 AMSubject: life books

Hello,

I work with children in foster care. I have a couple cases who are in the process of being adopted by foster parents. I am thinking that I would like to create a life book with these children as a means to process the transition. In researching life books, I was a little overwhelmed. I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion. Is there a particular one that people have found to be successful (and creative!)... Even if it just provides a model which I could work off of. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Dear Sara,

Perhaps this book will help:

Maybe Days - A Book for Children in Care is an excellent resource for foster parents, children and givers of children in foster care.

Maybe Days is recommended for children ages 4-10.

(Published by the M A G I N A T I O N P R E S S, 2002 Hardcover: ISBN 1-55798-803-X Softcover: ISBN 1-55798-802-1 )
