I am doing a presentation to my daughter's 6th grade class on World Down

Syndrome Day.

Was thinking of going somewhere along the lines of

Start out with a proclimation that today is the first World Down Syndrome

Day officially observed by the UN - it is the Seventh in the US.

What is DS?

Why this date?

How many people have DS?

Types of DS?

How did they get DS? Is it contagious?

What type of people have DS?

How are they different/same from you?

How do they want to be treated?

People first language

Does anyone else have anything that you think I should cover?
