Reminder on group settings

Since a few more members have joined, this is just a reminder that the group

settings are such that any member can post messages, links, upload files to

the " File " section, add items to the calendar, and initiate chat sessions.

The only suggestion I make is that, to keep things in order, please upload

files or post links to the appropriate folders, because otherwise, it's hard

to do after the fact (you pretty well have to delete and start over).

Also, if you do post a file (like a Personal Story), it's best to post it as

an html file. That way, when a member clicks on it, it just opens up in the

browser he or she is already using. To do that, all you have to do is, when

you save the file on your hard disk prior to uploading it to the site, save

it as an html file. Then, when the upload a file option asks you what file

you want to upload, just " browse " to it on your hard disk, and choose it.

With MS Word or Corel WordPerfect, this just means choose " Save as " and

then, at the bottom of the " Save as " dialog box, select the file type html

or .htm. It's a lot simpler than it sounds, believe me.

As I've said before, I encourage all members to add useful things to the

site if they can. The only caution is that you can't save a file that is

already published, like on a web site for example, for copyright reasons. If

it's on a web page somewhere, then it's better to add a " link " to that web

page (just copy the URL address).

Any suggestions for improvements to the group are greatly appreciated.

Pierre
