Guest guest
I have been told by a) my respiratory specialist, and my dietitian, that calcium should always be taken with a vitamin D supplement. This ensures that the body absorbs it. You can get them combined, as I do. it’s slightly more expensive – like a dollar or two for a month’s supply – but worth it. The weather in Melbourne is so unpredictable anyways. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for letting us know! I'll check it out.interesting! Chiara _____ From: fibromyalgiacured [mailto:fibromyalgiacured ] On Behalf Of Brat Girl Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2007 11:39 AM To: fibromyalgiacured Subject: Vitamin D I have always felt I had done a lot of resarch on CFS and Fibromyalgia. I had just gone to a new doctor, a rheumatologist and she had me tested for Vitamin D decicency. I had not heard of this before and went home to google it and found a tremedous connection between fibro and vitamin D. Has anyone else had experience with this? Come to find out my vitamin D was way below what it should be. She gave me a two week supply of mega dose Vitamin D and now I am taking 800 ui a day. (She perscribed me 50,000ui for two weeks). Well, I feel better. Not " cured " or " normal " but a lot of things that were slowly becoming unbearable are alright now. I can move without the horrible bone pain, my eyes are not so dry and a few other things have improved. Has anyone here been tested for Vitamin D ? And really if you haven't.... do it! heheheh. Guest guest
I had my blood panel done to see if my vitamin D was low as said on the web site about people with Fibromyalgia. When the doctor saw it he literally jump because it was so low. I almost laughed out loud (he is an extremely strange human being, long story LOL). Well, I started taking Vitamin D and am now up to 2000I.U. Tomorrow (I'm up in the middle of the night here) I'll up it more. Meanwhile, I'm herxing, which is a positive sign but hurts. Herxing is the side effect of toxins leaving the body more quickly than it can tolerate which causing pain in the muscles and tendons. It's a bit irritating but it's the beginning towards going into remission with Fibro. So, I'm getting excited thinking I just may end up being able to live my life again, the way I love it. Big hugs to all, Jane
