Hello,

I'm writing from Zurich in Switzerland.

I'm curious to know if many other sufferers of FM and CFS like myself have O

Pos Blood.

I've had FM and ? CFS for many years and have learned to tune out...(to an

extent) from the constant pain. I also have two artificial knees and

osteoarthritis in lots of joints. My hips are the most painful, especially at

night.

I had breast cancer at the end of September 2004 and since then I'm just so

very tired...following chemo. This could also be in part due to the Tamoxifen

I have to take.I sleep a lot which helps the pain and feeling of exhaustion.

I also manage to work, but always come home after a few hours and sleep for

2-3 hours.

Recently ,I've been experimenting and juicing different vegetables. I have

found that by mixing celery, fennel and apple my pain is to an extent

relieved.I drink about 500 mls of the mixture a day and quite enjoy it. This

leads me to believe that a lot of my FM is purely due to lack of vitamins.

I'm also (as a lot of you are) intolerant of milk products, gluten etc.

To add to my list of woes, I also have (as some other members also mentioned

ADHD)...I take Ritalin daily to help my concentration and maybe that helps a

bit. I've taken it for many years without a problem. There's a new theory

that Ritalin helps to relieve the FM pain.

My philosophy is though, just enjoy each day and do as much you can. There

are always people much worse off than me. I have to admit that I too have

put on weight and find it hard to go out and face exercising as it huuuurts

:-)

Does anyone else have pain in the palms of the hands below their thumbs? I

used to have a lot of pain in my heels, but that has now disappeared. The pain

is worst in the tendons behind my knees and muscles in my upper legs.

There were some wonderful capsules made by a local chemist here in Zurich

from natural ingredients, and they relieved my pain completely.

Unfortunately they conflict with my Tamoxifen,so I can't take them anymore.

They cost about US 50 cents a capsule and I used to take about 6 a day, so

they aren't too pricy. They really worked and I was almost pain free. If

anyone's interested I can give you details of where you can order a small

number to try. Contact me if you'd like more details. I've no connection to

the chemist and have never met him.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. I read all your mails with

interest.FM can be a lonely thing to have and it's great to know that other

people know how it feels. I also get treated with scepticism by some medics

when I tell them I have it.

Take care,

Anne
