Jodi (and all), When I clicked on the link, it asked for a password as well. When I clicked "read only," it successfully opened, and I could read it. -Kate O'Brien, MA, LCAT, MT-BC Date: Fri, 4 Mar 2011 13:37:02 +0000From: NYCCAT To: NYCCAT Subject: Digest Number 2447NY Coalition of Creative Arts Therapists Messages In This Digest (5 Messages) 1a. Exploring the Halprin’s unique approach to movement-based expressive arts, we will improvise new dances, draw images and write poetry to nourish ourselves and our creativity. Absolutely no dance or art experience is necessary. The only requirement is a willingness to experiment and have fun! ----------------------------------------------------------Trinity’s experience of Tamalpa Expressive Arts-I first experienced Tamalpa Expressive Arts at a workshop at Omega a few years ago. I loved it so much that I decided to take a trip to the Tamalpa Institute in California for a workshop last May. Tamalpa expressive arts is a profound and creative way to access the bodies deep inner wisdom. The guided improvisational drawing and dancing exercises enable you to access deeper parts of yourself in fun, unique and creative way that speaking cannot. I find the Tamalpa work to be fun, insightful and enlivening. It provided me with a unique, deep way to connect to myself and others all while having fun in the process. I am not the best at drawing but I love to do it and left to my own devices rarely do. I love how this work supports me in further opening and expressing myself and my creativity without pressure or judgment. About beth:beth Osgood-, MA, RSME, is a skilled dancer and group facilitator who studied extensively with Halprin and Daria Halprin, taught at Tamalpa Institute from 2000-2003 and served on its Board of Directors from 2003-2009. In addition to teaching at educational centers like the Omega Institute and mothering two young children, she also serves on the Board of Directors of ISMETA (International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association). beth is delighted to offer her work to individuals and groups in Manhattan and the Hudson River Valley. www.eco-movement-arts.comSpace is limited!Advance Registration is recommended!Adv rate- $25.Day of - $35.To get the adv rate pre-payment is req by 11:45pmthe night before the event at-http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/163379orhttp://www.meetup.com/thedancingpath/Upcoming Dancing Path™ EventsatDTW in NYC219 W19th Street (bet 7 & 8 Ave)Mark your Calendars!Spring Equinox Sacred Circle Dancew/Dance Therapist ~ Nada KhodlovaSat March 19th 7:15-9:30pmContact Improv w/Thai Massagefor Absolute Beginnersw/Shakti Sat April 16th 6:15-9:30pmMore info on the above events will be provided soon!----------------------------------------------------------Let’s Grow this Community! If you love these events and want to see more of them then I ask for your support in spreading the word.
