--I would have to disagree strongly about swimming and cold water--- says corrctly that it may constrict the airways a little but swimming is probably the best exercise in the world for people witn h lung disease ...If the water is very cold it may take longer to get your heart rate up so a good warm-up would be advised----I have swum several times a week for the last 30yrs ---I competed for Aus in Triathlons and the wter T in Wellington Harbour was 12 degrees --we had to swim 1500mtrs in that but swam every day in it for a week before to get used to it by race day--that was 1994--didnt do me a bit of harm--now go and do your laps---cheers Del
