Guest guest
Thanks so much you have been allot of help. jenny wrote: Don't put on sunscreen whatever you do. I can't remember the name of it but there's a substance in sunscreen I was reading about just tonight is a toxic thing that we shouldn't be plastering on our skins, it goes through the skin straight into the blood system. Sunlight is the best thing to sit in. Just as long as you don't stay too long at once. Here in Australia in summer the sun is very strong and hot too.. So best thing is sit in the sun for about ten minutes at a time...say every 2 hours maybe. You'll get plenty of Vitamin D that way. I'm doing that on sunny days here.. a bit rare at the moment. cheers, Tell me about the sunlight please. How much do you stay out? Do you wear sunscreen. Here in Arizona we are concerned about such things. I would like to know alll about it.
Guest guest
That's okay, I imagine it is a pretty big email group. I will look for the liquid Vitamin D supplements. I have a few ideas where to look. jenny wrote: Hi Sorry I only just found this email.. Well all I can suggest is you go to your Dr and get a prescription for the added Vitamin D supplement in liquid form if you can. I got it here in Australia through the prescription of my Specialist who also has FMS. I have one more to take in a month's time. Then I'll have to go back and get some more but maybe a higher dose this time. It's still not sunny enough for me to go outside and get any as we have more rain than anything else at the moment, being winter down under. You're in Summer time aren't you? It's the Vitamin D from pure sunlight you need (Without getting sunburnt tho') That's where you get the vitamin D from sunlight ' One thing I do though as well is gently massage the sore spots. It helps for a little while. It's caused by fibrins in the muscle tissues I think. I remember that from somewhere. So massaging gently does help temporarily. Cheer and all the best, Hello Jennny, I have been having pain in my legs and fore arms that is quite severe, any ideas?
Guest guest
Karis - that is great! Excercise keeps all your clear fluids moving. They are not pumped by the heart. It also aids in Seritonin production. You have hit on two of the essentials of reversing Fibro symptoms. Our clear fluids are what feed, rinse and lubricate every cell in the body. Do check your saliva pH. If the number is lower than 7, you will know why you still need the Aleve sometimes. And to eliminate that, eliminate tomatoes in all forms and citrus. Even raisins and cranberries due to acid. You will feel the difference immediately. Thanks for sharing your straight-forward and sensible method. If you want to, please go to the FibroFix Group on MySpace and post a bulletin. Lots of people will see it and it will stay up for a long time. Congrats! Anne at www.FibroFix.com Re: Question about getting sick all the time I agree with about the websites peddling snake oil. Even if it is run by someone for whom the " cure " has worked, with Fibro, there is no magic cure for everyone, or even for 50% of us. I will tell you what worked for me. I won't promise it will work for anyone else, but it would probably help and is pretty much common sense. * 1. The most important element in my improvement has been exercise. I started out small, just 15 minute walks around my neighborhood. Now I am up to 1 hour and 20 minute hikes 3-4 times a week. I can't tell you how much this improves my depression, my energy levels, and my pain. Walking in the forest or on the coast works best for me. Pavement causes stress on the joints. * 2. Cut out ALL Soda and processed sugars. If you really want to get better, quit the high fructose corn syrup. Yes, it is heck, especially if you were bottle fed the stuff from birth through college, like I was. But I found I can not eat sugar and feel good at the same time. Plus it has caused diabetes in every member of my immediate family. The only reason I am not diabetic is because I quit sugar about five years ago. *3. Eat a common sense healthy diet of lean white meats (I try to stick to fish and turkey but I NEVER EVER eat red meat), vegetables, fruit, and whole grains. Any doctor worth his license will tell you these are good suggestions. Since implementing the exercise program, I've gotten off all my prescriptions. I take certain vitamins and herbs to help, but since those are highly individualized things, I'm not going into them. In short, the best recommendation I can offer is to live a healthy lifestyle. It helped me. When I wasn't exercising, I was on a total of 11 medications at the age of 23 and I was still miserable. Now I'm on none, except for the vitamins and an occassional Aleve. It just takes a while before seeing results, but they will come. I hope this helps. Good luck. Fibro is a miserable disease and I understand the willingness to try just about anything. Guest guest
Hello Anne, That is the best description of Fibro Fog I have ever heard, do I have your permission to repeat it? Honestly I am thinking of writing it down and use it as an answer the next time I say Fibro Fog someone says huh? Besides I just like talking to you. I am ashamed of any unkind think I have ever said to you or about your website. I am a total convert, well not a total convert. As soon as I can get some paper I am going to start printing your site so I can read it at my own pace. You are the best! Anne Hillebrand wrote: Fibro Fog is mental confusion: being unable to think clearly, forgetting things, losing your keys, substituting words for other words, having trouble following directions and other intellectual problems that Fibro can cause. It can include not being able to clearly recognize faces and places on sight. It comes and goes depending on your symptoms. We now know that it is caused by the cells in your brain not receiving enough food (Serous Fluids - all the clear fluid throughout the body) Anne --------------------------------- Need a vacation? Guest guest
Be impressed with me as a kayaker! Went 4 hours yesterday. First real trip. First real physical activity since I was hit with extremely severe Fibro in April, 2000. Moved every muscle in my body. Better than bicycling or anything else I've ever done. Have recently bumped up my alkali solution and has gotten me so good that even after that long day on the river in Florida in July I don't feel like I have Fibro at all today. Will have photos later, as promised by several in the group. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! In HIS grip, Annie p.s. I did get sunburned because I forgot to screen my face, but it's ok. And I did fall off once, but a lot of people did. The river is very high right now and lots of logs and trees down. No photos of my sunburned face or me falling off, I hope! Guest guest
Hello Anne, I am impressed with you as a kayaker, four hours ultra cool. I need to know, how do I test for stuff you said I should test for. Do I need to ask my doctor? Actually I am going to see him Tuesday. Is there these kits you can buy at the store?
