ideas. It’s quite politically correct here. We can

probably add all sorts of interesting people to your list. It is a

matter we offen swap ideas about. Another favorite topic is

characters in TV dramas who look AS. Think of Monk, Reg in the Bill, Doc

, Doctor Tony Hill in Wire in the Blood, one of the mad lawyers in Boston

Legal. Etc etc. we may even know about some

individuals.

'outing' well-known figures?

Is

it poor form to speculate on this group as to whether so-and-so well-known

personality is or isn’t AS? For instance, articles about AS

regularly cite Bill Gates and Spielberg, but to my knowledge they

haven’t ‘outed’ themselves. My husband and I while

watching TV are constantly saying, “My Lord, X has GOT to be an

Aspie”, etc (in a humourous way). Is this topic considered personal

and gossipy? There is someone I think is great and I’m dying to

seek views about, but for all I know he might even be a group-member and would

not like to be discussed in this way. Or not.

there was an interesting letter in the Times here in the Uk that suggested if Barack Obama was to stand for president in his fathers home country (? kenya) he would be considered the first white president of that country.

scared of Obama because of having Hussein as a middle name. " We're

Hi Good grief! Its sad to think there are still people out there who think like that?? The definition of Hussein is 'little and handsome boy' in arabic so is often given to favoured sons. If the south are scared of (Muslims?) and not ready for blacks, the people should emigrate to some far off land where integration is yet to happen. Like North Greenland. Yep, I've heard of folks like that. My husband has a cousin who lives down your way... (you're in TN right?) and I've heard quite a bit from him about the way folks think where he is. It's so crazy, the guy (Obama) can't win. These folk say they don't want a black president and these other folk say he's not black enough.... What difference does his color make anyway?? Let alone his name. The guy can't help what his name is. Besides had he changed his name 20 yrs ago they'd be digging that up and talking about how he's trying to 'hide his roots'. LOL This is part of what I was talking about in one of my other posts about how we need to be THINKING more. We ought to be interested in learning what Barak Obama thinks and believes in, what drives him as a person and what is his record as a politician NOT what his middle name is or what shade of brown he happens to be!!

I tend to cringe when people who are monsters and ought to know better

on how to behave in the world are nominated. We do not know these people.

The likes of Oliver Heaviside are far more likely but is not sexy.
