Guest guest
Hey Bonnie, Remember that the only country in the world that still measures temperature by the Fahrenheit scale is the United States of America. I was totally freaked for a minute when you said that your daughter's temperature was 96.8. That's nearly the boiling point of water on the Celsius scale! Took my daughter's temperature today and it was 37.18. We used to do temperatures in Fahrenheit when I was little, but I forget what was normal. Is 96.8 higher or lower than expected? Thanks, Ruth in cold Sudbury, where it was -11 degrees Celsius at high noon today
Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, My normal body temperature is 97 degrees F. My father who had EDS but did not know about it was the same. It will be interesting to know the results.
Guest guest
It's me again with another survey....can you tell my brain is working again? hehehe I was talking with Lynn today about the conference. We have another planning meeting in a week. I also told her about the exprience with the MD not believing 's body temp being 96.8. She and I are both wondering if there has ever been a scientific survey of this with data to back it? Anyone know of it? How many people are coming to the conference in Milwaukee July 17-20, 2001? We are taking an informal poll and urge everyone to make their hotel reservations soon as rooms are filling up. If you need a handicapped room, please call early and register! Be sure to tell them you are with the EDS conference to get the preferred room rate. For people who are coming, would you be willing to be a part of a research project to document normal body temp (if there is no previous temps done)? If you know you are coming for sure to Milwaukee you can email me privately. Also, if you know your normal body temp and wouldn't mind sharing it, please let me know on list. Bonnie bheint@... I'm not sure how high, as I dont own a thermometer! I can tell if they run a temperature since they're hands and feet get burning hot. Sleeping next to my husband is like sleeping with a huge hot water bottle...great in the winter, but not so good in the summer! Then when Allie comes and gets in too its just unbearable! They have a crossover diagnosis of OI and EDS. Excessive perspiration is a recognised feature of OI....I wonder if this is related? Guest guest
Bonnie, I haven't made plans to attend the conference yet. I don't know what the budget will be by then. As for the body temperature, mine has always been 97.6. Kerry is slightly lower than that, but I can't remember it off hand. -Barb
