Drum, dance, celebrate & connect from your heart with a conscious, vibrant commUNITY!

One Love provides a sacred place for people to connect, express themselves fully & celebrate life in a healthy, positive, and nurturing way.

The night will start with

* 6pm -7:30pm -Capoeira Class by aka TOCA

Capoeira is a Afro Brazilian art form that involves Dance, Martial Arts and a game. Born out of the struggle of the African slaves and their calling to be free, Capoeira was disguised as a dance and forbidden to be practiced. Toca has been training for 10 yrs. and will instruct you in a SAFE class with proper technique. We suggest you bring loose work out clothing and water. Open to the novice, beginners and intermediate levels.

* 7:30-8pm - JourneyDanceâ„¢ w/Trinity Schmidt

Trinity the founder of the One Love Drum & Dance Circle will guide you

through a powerful, transformational and improvisational dance through your chakras. The JourneyDance will take you into higher states of unity, love and playfulness.

* 8-9:30 pm. Dance & Drum Circle led by Toca

We finish the night with an ecstatic drum & dance circle. One Love Drum & Dance Circle is an ecstatic improvisational drum and dance circle where the drummers inspire people to dance spontaneously and ecstatically and the dancers inspire the drummers to drum passionately. Participation is encouraged and everyone is welcome to drum and/or dance. It’s a great way to de-stress, dance and feel the energy of organic tribal rhythms & community. Note- Drums will not provided if you would like to drum please bring one.

* 8-9:30 pm Mini massage & reiki sessions

Simultaneously during the drum circle in the nirvana chill out lounge- Buddy N. (buddymassages@...) a phenomenal massage therapist will be offering for purchase mini massage and reiki sessions. I highly recommend signing up for a session with him. He is fantastic!

All participants will need to sign a waiver. The event may be filmed and photographed. We ask for you consent.

$15. for ALL activities if you preregister in adv.

$20. at the door $10. for drummers after 7:30pm

Please note- Drummers need to bring a drum.

Adv registration is highly recommended.

Get Your Dance On connects people through movement, music, and world-changing ideas. We feature the very best local DJs, musicians, yoga teachers, healers, artists, and performers, local sponsors provide high vibe treats like raw chocolate, kombucha, turmeric elixirs, and fresh fruit, and YOU bring the magic that makes GYDO beyond amazing!

November 13th we'll join forces with Evolver.net and Urban Zen to take over YogaWorks Soho's gorgeous duplex space, complete with three huge rooms, hardwood floors perfect for barefoot grooving, saunas, and showers for when you're all danced out, and create an opportunity for NYC's finest humans to revel in their collective awesomeness and have a freakin blast.

Dhundee will man the wheels of steel as Brooklyn's T facilitates the beat in our live room to keep things inspired, and the Didge Project will hold down the chill space with didgeridoos, tabla, violin (the list goes on), and an acupuncturist on-site doing community-style treatments.

Profits benefit the Urban Zen Foundation, which creates, connects, and collaborates to raise awareness and inspire change in the areas of well-being, preserving cultures, and empowering children.
