Guest guest
In Pennsylvania, all students must take the Pennsylvania State Assessments from Grade 3 on. just got her scores from last years test. She does not take the PSSAs like everyone else, she takes the PASAs - which are similar but video taped so the students replies can be heard and the teachers instructions and help can be heard. This is the second year has taken them and she loves taking them - she thinks she is a TV star because she gets to watch her self on tape (me too). The results just came in and scored proficient in both reading and math - scoring a 120 out of a possible 125 in Math and 119 out of 125 in reading. Her scores get counted in the schools assessment just like the other students PSSA scores. I am so proud of her!!! This makes the school look better and puts more funding into special education. And these scores will be shared with the Middle school so that when I go there, I should not have to fight so hard (I hope) to prove to them that she IS intelligent, she just needs so me accommodations.
