Guest guest
Thanks Barb, it really scared me how much blood and the fact it was bright red. Thank goodness it has stopped, I'm hoping I just burst a blood vessel trying to cough up. I hate this disease so much it is so tricky to manage isn't it? Hope your infection soon clear and have a lovely party, isn't it great to see your kids growing up and doing well. My son got a big promotion at work yesterday with a nice pay rise which will help him save for his wedding, I feel so proud of him. Makes all those years struggling to bring up 3 lads, some of it as a single parent, so worthwhile. Lucky you having a daughter to help, always wanted a daughter but it was not to be so now hoping for some lovely granddaughters one day. Guest guest
Hi , yes we managed a short session this morning and I'm planning to have a jacuzzi, my massage pad and maybe see if my son would be prepared to learn the " bashing " routine tonight It's a big joke with my husband Ian, who tells people he has to bash me occasionally, they always look horrified until he explains he does physio for me. I'm having another bad day today, chest is a little gunky but not that bad, not infected for sure. BUT I feel really breathless again, pretty sure this is the old hormone problem again. My Peak flow tells me it's not asthma and I'm fine but I feel I can't breathe. The only thing that relieves that feeling is to go on the nebuliser just using a saline nebule. Really baffled by this, it's happening every month but now I have my special HRT patches. Either they are not working or it is too soon to get the full effect. On week 4 of them so I thought something should be improving by now? Anyway back to Brompton on Wednesday, got an urgent appointment to discuss the Sinus and possible link with my asthma medication, so I will ask them again about this. Making a big effort to stay calm about it as I know it will pass. I feel I am coping much better with the ups and downs now, I'm more confident about managing my own medicines, as soon as I'm getting clogged I take Mucodyne capsules which thin the gunk. They help so much. Not having nearly so many steroids or hospital admissions, touch wood, so I guess I am making progress. Loved the photo of Zoe, what a little cutie. It's a lovely day here in London after a rainy start, they are predicting a heatwave for the weekend with temperatures of 30C which is heaven for me, hot humid weather is really good for my asthma. Love to you and . Guest guest
Morning , Thanks for the care, I am learning to take your advice, is proof you know what you are talking about! Yes I have got a mechanical one and a massage bed but I don't get the same relief as I do from hubby doing it. He has the whole procedure off to perfection. If I am having an asthma attack he will come and thump me between the shoulder blades, just like someone choking and it seems to stop the spasm so I can breathe. I have had a couple of very bad days, the Menopause monsters have got me again. Despite the HRT I have the same problems of falling Peak flow, swollen eyes and feeling of not being able to breathe. The natural HRT I was taking seemed to be more effective than the real stuff so I am going back to that alongside the patches. If nothing improves after another month though the patches go, I was never that happy about them. Thanks for asking about my Mum, she is not good. Back still bad and she is very tottery which she has never been before. Today she is having a CAT scan and we will know more when the result of that is known. Once again thanks for all your care Much love June > what a good girl........i was just checking up on you! > why don't you see if you can buy a mechanical > percussor.......they're great and saves a lot of > physical effort. > how is your mum? > love > jennifer > > > soft ocean breezes > > __________________________________________________ >

Guest guest
Hi Cheryl Glad the writing is going so well, wow 6 books, a fully fledged writer now, well done you, talk about overcoming the odds. What about health wise holding up? Sorry if I confused you re medicines, I've had a nightmare week. Because of nose problems the Brompton took me off Seretide Accuahler which is dry powder and what I think irritates my nose. They put me on Evohaler, same medicine different delivery, that is gas propelled. But Glaxo state on their site only Accuhaler is suitable for COPD patients. Anyway within 3 days of the switch I went downhill quickly, full chest infection and several asthma attacks. Back on Prednisolone, antibiotics, the works. Have had to return to Accuhaler and yes it is working just like before. So now I have no choice but to stick with that and have all the problems with nose and hearing. Have contacted Glaxo the makers and medical protocol says they won't speak to me about side effects, I have to give my consent for them to contact my doctor. I am not impressed with that. Have finally found one other person on a Seretide forum who is having exactly the same problems as me but it obviously is a pretty rare reaction. Trust me. Now I have to convince the medics that this is what my problem is, they are having none of it, why do they always think they are right? Am waiting for an urgent ENT appointment. Feeling just a bit fed up right now. HRT is not working much for me except stopping flushes, feel sick every morning and have gone back on the Natural one I took before. Got to do the 3 month trial to see but I don't think I will be sticking on that. Hope your Mum's problems are getting sorted out and you are ok Love June > Hi June, yes, been very busy!! > > I’m a bit confused about why you’ve stopped the new medication if it > worked. Guest guest
June, I agree wholeheartedly with Barbara and everyone else who has been concerned about you, your family and friends. We are so relieved that you are O.K. Love, , Vic. Aust. June June, I was so glad to hear that you and your family are safe. There is such evil in this world! The people behind these horrible acts are nothing but barbarians. I have always been truly awed by the way the British stand up to such adversity. You are an inspiration to us all. Guest guest
Hi June, I'm late in getting to the computer today and I have 80+ msges to read-----arrggggh. I had another migraine and aura last night and still feel 'spaced out' and dizzy today, so I'm taking it easy. I saw the neurologist 2 weeks ago and have new drugs and adjusted doses on old drugs and this shouldn't be happening........at least I can breathe, so I'm better off than a lot of you and others in this group. Sorry to hear about your ear infection and other woes......I'll hope to hear better news tomorrow. Love soft ocean breezes __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Lee- The US Federal Drug Agency have voted unanimously to keep Seretide on the market. It has been given a black box rating meaning it is classed as a very potent drug with possible serious side effects. I just can't say how relieved I am, that drug has been a miracle for me. Apparently it is the world's most successful asthma drug and Glaxo shares fell sharply while they were waiting for a verdict on Seretide!! Thank goodness common sense has prevailed, there would have been a lot of very panicky patients if they had pulled it. Love from London June > June, whats happened with Seretide???? Do I need to throw it against > the wall????havent heard anything but I havent watched the news > lately. hugs Lee > > June Fraser <junefre. >> > >> > >>
Guest guest
Hi June, I wonder what the possible serious side effects are? According to my Medication book these are the side effects: Common: Fungal (thrush) infections of mouth, sore throat and mouth, dry mouth. Ununusal: Hoarseness, unusual bleeding and bruising, slowed growth. Use with caution in lung or throat infection and TB. There must be some reported incidences to class it as a very potent drug. Guest guest
June those side effects you write about, are some of what I had too, but ultimately acute and potentially deadly attacks of asthma were brought on, as did swelling of my throat and back of tongue, a little like the allergy to pennicillin I have. Guest guest
Hi June, Thanks so much for this information. I don't have asthma, but I know that education and proper use of inhalers is paramount in keeping the asthma under control. I was interested in your comment about the 500 Accuhaler being the only one recommended for bronch and COPD patients. I would have thought that the dose would be prescribed to suit the patient's needs. Just wondering!! Take care and keep well. During a study a very small proportion of asthma patients were more prone to life threatening attacks but it turned out a lot of those patients were using it as a rescue inhaler instead of a preventative one. -------------------------- If you have Bronch, as we do, you must be on the 500 Accuhaler as that is the only one recommended for COPD patients.Regards from June
