Guest guest
yes I had that problem and I had to have a sleep study done because I wasn't breathing. in the night I was stopping breathing 22 times an hour. and now I have a cpap machine to keep me breathing.. not breathing causes lack of oxygen to your brain as well. hope that helps. nancy Subject: Re: Fibromyalgia and Breathing...? Guest guest
Annie, I was doing some reading on different ways to reduce acidity and was surprised to find a reference to breathing and acidity. One guy claimed that deep breathing reduced acidity better than most of the expensive methods like special water systems, etc. Respiration is a waste-expelling function of the body. I have chronic Lyme Disease -- seeing a specialist next week -- but also notice the depression in breathing and movement. Our bodies just don't want to move, and consequently, the need for deeper breathing seems reduced. I now make it a point to do deep breathing for a few minutes every day as well as exercising -- it will naturally increase the deeper breathing. I have also been using two Christian yoga DVD's to increase flow in my body as well as stretching and strengthening. All of these things are useful for those with fibromyalgia, whose symptoms are nearly identical to Lyme. Thanks, Michele in CT >> >> I'm a new member, and have a question about breathing. Guest guest
Yes, often diagnosed for one another. On treatment for FMS we breath bigger and deeper. It's part of how this works. The truth is setting us free. Annie Re: Re: Fibromyalgia and Breathing...? Guest guest
C-Pap is good if you have some particular problems. We need to correct an entire system, so that not only breathing is good, everything is good. The truth is setting us free. Annie www.FibroFix.com Re: Fibromyalgia and Breathing...? Guest guest
Annie, do you think that there is a connection between starving the muscles and the rest of the body of oxygen from not breathing properly.. and the pain?  I mean, when I catch myself not breathing, presumably my muscles are not being fed the oxygen they need,.... could that lead to the pain do you think?  xxx From: Anne Hillebrand at www.FibroFix.com Subject: Re: Re: Fibromyalgia and Breathing...? Guest guest
The pain in FMS comes from the cells not being fed, rinsed and lubricated. The " not breathing " is not something I understand. I was the same way, got to where I breathed shallow as a little mouse. Have read some about it; is about how the chems are exchanged - way over my head. You can read online or talk with a physiologist. The breathing problems we know about are that all clear fluid is too thick. Hard to get air though. Next time you feel short of breath, try this and you will feel it. Close your lips almost all the way and restrict your out breath. This will create more air pressure on your lungs. After a minute or so, you won't feel so out of breath. It's forcing the air to pass through the lungs. Of course, on FMS treatment that works, you won't be out of breath anyway.
