Guest guest
Hello Experts, A friend recently got Metametrix ION results for her 7 yr old son. He is in need of some supplementary amino acids. (5htp, phenylalanine and lots of taurine have been recommended). HOWEVER, he also has urinary organic acid markers for bacterial dysbiosis. Both indican and tricarballylate are elevated. (No yeast, at least according to test results.) I have heard that it is best not to give amino acids until dysbiosis is under control. What approach have you experienced parents taken when this comes up? I know it can take a while to get gut bacteria back in balance, but I fear he really needs the aminos SOON. Also, have any of you had success with gut intervention when indican and tricarballylate are elevated? What probiotics? Any other products or meds? Grateful for any help!
