Job Description: Position:    Clinical Case Manager/Art Therapist

Program:    Project Moving On Continuing Day Treatment

The Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service is one of Brooklyn’s largest and first non-sectarian social services agencies. Serving more than 10,000 individuals annually, the Brooklyn Bureau provides a broad and diverse range of services including prevention of foster care placement; crisis intervention; early childhood and after school education; vocational training, job placement, and clinical services to adults with physical and developmental disabilities, and histories of mental illness.

Project Moving On (PMO) offers counseling, therapeutic activities, and peer support each day to individuals contending with severe mental illness.  PMO’s goal is to help its clients become as self-sufficient as possible. Project Moving On CDT has been at the forefront of integrating evidence based practices into its service model.

Responsibilities:

Function as a member of an interdisciplinary team working to provide services to adult mentally ill consumers in a day treatment setting.

The Art Therapist at PMO will provide the following:

•       Conduct 12-14 art therapy/art studio/other groups weekly

•       Manage a caseload of approximately 18-22 consumers

•       Maintain documentation of services in client records

•       Share responsibility of carrying on-call emergency cell phone with other staff on a rotating basis

•       Develop and maintain collateral relationships with consumers’ other providers and family as clinically indicated

•       Participate in weekly administrative and clinical meetings

Requirements:

Masters Level degree in Art Therapy/Creative Arts required.  New graduates welcome. Finger printing and criminal background check required. Positions with Medicaid funded programs require a screening against the GSA, OIG, and OMIG lists of persons disallowed from working in such programs.
