Guest guest
Hi, Thanks to everyone who wrote and welcomed me to the group. You are a very interesting group of people and I look forward to more communication in the future. I think I have learned more already from you and the sites you recommended than I have the entire year I have been seeing my pulmonary specialist and his assistant. Norma, that is interesting that you lived in Missouri but was from Illinois. Where in Illinois? I live in the St. Louis area but was born and raised in East Alton, IL. Thanks for the info about the vest. I visited that site and will definitely discuss it with my doctor. Most of you seem to have a far worse form of the disease than I do. I hope I am not headed down that road even though there are days when I feel like it is progressing rapidly. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. I always tell myself that I could have something far worse and I should be thankful that I have always enjoyed a rather healthy life. My husband and 4 children are very healthy and I am indeed a fortunate person. Lynne, thanks for your welcome. I didn’t realize that someone so young could acquire this disease. , you are the first person to mention the flutter valve which your husband uses. Does he only have to use it twice daily? What is the flovent inhaler he uses in combination with it? I need to use my valve at least 4 times daily and have never been instructed to use anything else with it. The inhalers I was using were used once in the AM and once in the PM but I was never told to combine them with my coughing episodes. I was told they were to help open my airways and make breathing easier so I never associated them with my coughing and expelling of mucus. I quite using them because they didn’t seem to make my breathing any easier, and certainly did nothing for my coughing spells. Maybe I haven’t found the right one yet. Again, thanks for all your information and greetings. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. Nonie
