PHYSICAL EXAMINATION:

HEENT: Examination showed obliteration of the right nasolabial fold. The

patient is unable to whistle. When tried to close the eyes, the eyeball

goes up. There is no evidence of any corneal ulcer.

NEUROLOGIC: The rest of the neurological examination is normal. There is no

motor or sensory deficit. There is no pathological **s/l deprexis**. Gait

is normal.

IMPRESSION:

1. Bell's palsy.

2. Rule out cerebral infarct.

The use of Cortisone on Bell's palsy is controversial and showed no

significant prevention of possible **sak-ru-lof**.

I can find reference to Cortisone being used to prevent paralysis but not

anything that sounds like what the doctor is saying.
