Hi June, When I was so incredibly sick two and a half years ago, my then specialist (since sacked!) told me I would never be any better. That got my goat up – he was an arrogant so and so – and I decided to prove him wrong. Because of the immune deficiency I was told (by several doctors) I could never go back to my day job again. I’d been writing as a hobby for years upon years, didn’t really think about earning money from it, although I’d long wanted to write full-time. Well, now I am writing full-time – kind of. I pace myself as best I can, and write when I’m well enough, and if I’m not, then I don’t. That works for me most of the time, but at the moment I’m working on a feature article that’s due on Wednesday (Aussie time) and I’m a bit behind; nearly there though. The feature is wearing me out a bit, mainly because it’s about wines and wineries, and I’m a tea-totaller, so I’m having to do a ton of research. Then my editor emailed and asked me to add a sidebar about various wines that would be available in the US in the spring. (The magazine is in the US). <<groan>> It’s been a real challenge, but I’m also there. Hallelujah! Just about anything is possible if you really want it; that’s my take on it anyway. Cheryl p.s. A sidebar (for those who don’t know) is the extra information you often find at the end of an article. Sometimes it might present as a box in the middle of an article. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Cheryl , Award Winning Australian Author http://www.cheryl-wright.com http://www.savingemma.com Think Outside the Square: Writing Publishable (Short) Stories I Wanna Win! – Tips for Becoming an Award Winning Writer Both available from: http://www.writer2writer.com Join my FR*EE ezine for writers: writertowriter-subscribe@... **Saving Emma - now available from http://www.whiskeycreekpress.com
