OMG Myrna, thank goodness the window was available to crawl into. Now, if

something should happen like that and the locks are on the windows, how will

they get in? I hope they changed something, so that it can't happen again like

that. At home our bathroom door swings in, so the door can't be blocked from the

outside. I wasn't thinking about how that bathroom door at the nh swings out

into the room and not in, so it can be blocked from the outside. Live and Learn!

LOL When I bring things into the bathroom, I always close the door a little,

because the door is so wide that when it swings open into the room, it blocks

the TV view and the bedridden man is usually watching it, so I don't want to

block his view from the TV and I don't close the door all the way, but most of

the way, so when Jim scooted his chair back against the door, it blocked the

door, so that I could only open it about an inch.

Re: Funny little happening at the nh

This reminds me of when my son-in-law was working for the corporate end of the

nursing home and making his visits to the various homes. The nurse came and

asked him if he could help them with a " situation " . It seemed that the resident

had moved her wheelchair in front of the door to the room hedged between the

bathroom door and the room door. Well, he had to crawl through the window to

the room from the outside and guide the wheelchair out of the " caught "

situation. That's when they discovered that the windows in the rooms were not

locked. Thank goodness that mistake happened there. They couldn't 't even take

the door off. I guess we or our loved ones are never safe but always good for a

laugh.
