Guest guest
Hi . For what it's worth, I've never had sinus problems, even though I've had fairly severe respiratory allergies since I was about 13. We've hashed the allergy thing around on the group before. My allergist says there is no connection, and heck, I'm sure there are a heck of a lot more allergy patients in the world without IgAN than with. I guess the same thing could be said about sinuses, but, it's always a possibility. Pierre Re: Sinus Infections Hi everyone, I've mentioned this in the past on the other IgAN group. Several people have mentioned sinus infections recently. I've had sinus problems and infections since I was very young. I keep thinking that perhaps in some people, it might have something to do with the IgAN. IgA is abundant in mucosal secretions, etc. I keep thinking that maybe the sinus problems might cause elevated levels of IgA to be circulating and eventually end up in the nephrons. Way back before I had my biopsy, but was suspected of having IgAN, they checked my serum IgA level. It was quite elevated. I've read that not all IgAN patients have elevated IgA levels. Just something to kick around. It would be nice to run it by an immunologist or IgAN specialist. Marty
