Guest guest
Hi mom has really good days, but some days are exactly like you describe.Im not sure but I imagine it goes along with this disease.Shes having a sleeping day today actually.Yesterday was filled with severe back pain. This disease seems to change its face often.I wish the best for you and your mom. Ron Sleeping cycle Mom is in her 2nd day of sleeping during the day time hours. Usually this sleep cycle goes along with being restless, easily irritated and depressed. But today she has slept non- stop. I wake her and visit while I tidy up her room, but the minute I leave, she's asleep again. Usually she'll sleep a 2-3 hours in the mornings and that long in the afternoon. On a regular schedule she might not nap at all. I'm wondering- do your loved ones cycle like this? Guest guest
Hi Ron and Our Yellow! Well, I did it, too. Anyway, the thoughts from Jan - and now me - remain the same. Be sure to check for infection, changes in meds or routines, any new meds, etc. Changes in sleep patterns do go along with LBD in some people, but quite abrupt changes may also signal a new physical issue. Please stay in touch. Guest guest
When my husband had to go in the hospital, he slept around the clock for two days after the first night. He had never done that before and I thought then that perhaps it was his way of adjusting to new surroundings. Once he woke up, they wished he was still asleep!! : ) Following a few outbursts and problems, they upped his seroquel dramatically and he slept quite a lot until I got it lowered at the Nursing Home. He fought being in the hospital after that first 2 days but has never fought being in the nursing home except 2 occasions. Leona Leona: Caregiver for husband Ray, age 67, diagnosed 2/04 with Parkinson's Disease. Changed doctors, diagnosed 6/06 with LBD. Almost continual downhill slide no matter what drugs we try. 5/2/08 Ray was placed in Sunrise Nursing Home in Oswego, NY, 45 minutes from home. So far, so good! Hardest thing I have ever done in my life, however. There's a magical tie to the land of our home, which the heart cannot break, though the footsteps may roam.
