Guest guest
Hi. .when Dr. JM treated my son we used a customized mix initially and then changed to one that was granules that dissolved under the tongue from my best recollection. I have long discarded those old bottles but will try to remember the brand or she may see this and respond if I am conveying this accurately. My memory is weak these days! I also might add that we took over 20 opened capsules at a time during treatment in order to use the individual supplements my son needed per his testing and to use the brands that Dr. JM had a successful track record with. The best advice she and others ever gave me was to use tough love and get through the initial crisis of taking things they did not want to take. My son could not swallow pills either and we had to get these specific things in at least twice a day. He balked, spit, etc but it truly did not take long and he would swallow virtually anything and it made his whole treatment process SO much better and assured me that I could get the optimal supplements in him. To this day he will still swallow almost anything and believe me he had all the adverse behaviors you mention and more initially. ha! He now swallows pills but on occasion we still have to take some nasty tasting stuff and he still is compliant. Everyone is different but we had no option to change brands or forms and I am so glad we worked through the initial resistance to get to the point where he was accepting of those things he needed. I wish you the best in finding the right path for your child and again, this is just our experience. All the best, Moderator > > We just started Amino Acid complete by Klaire Labs. Guest guest
and .. I am pretty sure that is the Amino Formula that we used also once we were off the individualized formula. Thanks for jarring my brain on it! Dr. JM can correct me if I am wrong on this but it sounds right. > > We just started Amino Acid complete by Klaire Labs. Guest guest
Yes, Free-Form Amino Acid powder is what I use for little guys who cannot swallow caps, and for those who can I use Aminoplex caps, one twice daily on an empty stomach, also from Ecological Formulas. I always use the custom formula for any child that has 4 or more essential aminos deficient before I use the above, usually for 2 orders (2-3 months' worth). Dr. JM --- adoptinggrace wrote: > and .. Guest guest
Which of these formulas is customizable? What testing do you use to determine the formula? My son's plasma amino acids were almost all in range, although some were definitely on the low side. But his urine amino acids are a total mess: - Ammonia, proline, cysteine, & arginine are normal. - But Taurine and Methionine are sky high, off the page, and Beta-alanine is rather high as well. - Almost everything else is low. Also Methionine Sulfoxide is high, what does this mean in relation to his sky high methionine? Does he have too much, or is he wasting what he's getting? We give him a lot of zinc monomethionine, much of it at bedtime, and in the morning his diaper always *stinks* of methionine. Should we switch to a different kind? Sorry for all the questions, just a bit concerned by this amino acid mess! > > > > > > Hello, > > > > > > We used Amino Acids from Metabolic Maintenance > > after blood test > > (MMX ). > > > Our doctor adviced us to use this product no more > > than 4 months > > and after > > > than to start this *Cardiovascular Research - Free > > Form Amino > > Acids Powder - > > > 50 gms* > > > It works too for my 4.6 years old. > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hello, We did ION TEST with 40 amino acid to determine the individual formula of amino acids for my sun. http://www.metametrix.com/content/Home After than we ordered individual form from Metabolic Maintenance > > Which of these formulas is customizable? Guest guest
For little guys I like Ecological Formulas Free-Form Amino Acid powder; for bigger kids I like Ecological Formula's Aminoplex. However, if your child is not thriving or does not show a good response, a specific AA analysis will allow you to get a personalized formula which is very helpful to SOME (of course, never ALL) kids.
