Multiple sclerosis has been no fun for me, but I see the possibility of beating this, so thank you Dudley. Guest guest
Jeff, I think the key to eating healthy and maintaining our health is to just get back to basics and avoid processed foods. The Gerson people advised us to eat nothing from a can or bottle, nothing with preservatives, no fried food, and to drink nothing with chlorine or fluoride. This would include salt, sugar, most bread and cereal, coffee, soft drinks, alcohol, white rice, and so forth. (Celtic sea salt is natural and unprocessed and contains minerals that refined salt is missing. Refined salt usually contains aluminum or some other additive to stop it from caking up so it will be free flowing.) They say to buy fresh organic produce and cook it on low heat to avoid killing the live enzymes. Eat it as close to raw as possible - as natural as possible. Organics have no pesticides and are not sprayed with wax or dyes to make them look pretty like non-organic fruits and vegetables. If you eat mostly organic you should not need so many supplements because your vitamins and minerals will be in your food in their natural state and will be more usable. This advice is extremely hard to follow through with in this society we live in now. People who go to work every day and go out to lunch have very little choice in avoiding processed foods. We can't take vegetables to work and make our juice at our desk. It is a more difficult lifestyle to follow and more time consuming, but will make a difference in how long you live and how healthy you will be.
