Guest guest
Hi Helen, My asthma is not too bad, I did have a lot of trouble 2 years ago our family took a vacation, we were headed for Yellowstone but went through Rocky Mtn Natl Park, the altitude is like 12,000 ft and I really could hardly breathe. The thing it you're supposed to get out and hike around and of course I couldn't do that, because of my asthma and fibro. When we got to Yellowstone I could breathe better, the altitude was not so bad and I enjoyed a lot of the geysers and hot springs. We saw elk and buffalo and I can't remember when else, kept looking for moose but didn't see any. So I try and keep up the best I can and my family looks after me. I an on Advair, Singulair and albuterol for rescue inhaler. Now with the Advair and Singulair I don't need the Albuterol very much. Sorry to hear about your colon problems, luckily I haven't had that, I have had bladder problems. I had a sadistic doc who did a bladder test where they look in your bladder with a little camera. I think it's called a cystoscopy. I had this done before but the doc (a different one--much nicer!) had me sedated for it. And it really hurt. I wanted my husband to stay with me but the doc said no and my husband didn't argue. I had told him but my husband still didn't argue. I got really upset and crying and it was just horrible. That is the worst doc I ever had. I complained about him, I wrote a letter complaining about him, and the next time I went to that office (to see a different doc) he was gone! I got him fired, probably not just me but imagine a lot of women would complain about him. That other doc just put me on Detrol LA and my bladder has been so much better, I was having to urinate around 25-30 times a day. With this it's normal, probably 10 times. Hope the chelation thing works, let us know how it's going. love,
Guest guest
Hi , How do you manage to work four jobs!? I haven't worked since before I had kids. My daughter has cystic fibrosis and was a lot of work growing up. We had to do chest therapy twice daily, plus breathing treatments 2-4 times a day depending on how she was doing.I think she had to go to the doctor about every week or two. My son also had asthma and I had to take him to the doctor a lot too. I am so lucky I didn't have fibro when the kids where little. I was dxed in 1998 but probably had it a year or two before. So I am lucky my husband has been able to support us and I haven't had to work. But do write back and tell me what all jobs you have. I am really amazed what ever you're doing! love,

Guest guest
After a lot of looking around I finally found a good doctor, that’s so important! I moved after living in Ventura over 40 years and it was very difficult finding a good one. She recommended that I see a holistic doctor that helps people with Fibromyalgia and I have an appointment in January. Meanwhile she told me of a book to read called “From Fatigued to Fantastic.” I’m started reading it and have a long way to go. As I’m helped (I’m hoping to get well enough to live a decent life even though working will be out of the picture) I will tell you all what I’ve learned and what helps. Hugs, Jane ************************************** Subject: new to group Hi. I joined to get some understanding of fibromyalgia. My best friend has been diagnosed with it and I would just like to learn as much as possible. I know that she is constantly in pain and depression is setting in because she has always been very active and now it wears her out just to walk down the hallway. The meds she has tried don't seem to be helping. I am so worried about what the future holds for her. If any one can tell me about their experiences and possibly give us some hope, that would be great. Thanks,
