Dental sealants

To continue the dental conversation, my son's dentist is

recommending that he have a sealant put on his back molars to

prevent tooth decay. In the pamphlet I got, it is described as

a " plastic material that is usually applied to the chewing surfaces

of the back teeth. This plastic resin bonds into the depressions

and grooves (pits and fissures) of the chewing surfaces of back

teeth. The sealant acts as a barrier, protecting enamel from plaque

and acids. "

The product is called UltraSeal XT plus and is made by Ultradent

Products. I contacted their chemist to get a list of ingredients,

but he wouldn't send it because their formula is proprietary. He

offered to talk to our doctor who can tell them what our boys

are " allergic " to and they will tell them whether it's in the

product or not. They do certify that the sealant is kosher, does

not contain gluten, etc.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Yerly
