And here's articles elsewhere about the same topic:

Older Anti-psychotic Drugs to Carry New Warning

(Source: Medical News Today) - On June 16, 2008, the US Food and Drug

Administration (FDA) " ordered " manufacturers of older conventional

antipsychotic drugs to strengthen the label to warn of increased risk

of death when used off-label to treat older people with dementia.

The FDA sent letters to the manufacturers of both older conventional

anti-psychotic drugs and atypical anti-psychotic drugs, giving them

30 days to either submit the new wording to the FDA, or to explain

why they don't think the changes were necessary.

According to the FDA's announcement, the Boxed Warnings (the

strongest class of FDA warning a drug can have) will carry words to

the effect that " clinical studies indicate that anti-psychotic

drugs ... are associated with an increased risk of death when used in

elderly patients treated for dementia- related psychosis. "
