Alternatives to mosquito treatment

We live in Austin, TX in a neighborhood that has a high level of

mosquitos during the warmer months (i.e., beginning now). Both of my

boys on the spectrum are very susceptible to mosquito bites, which

swell and are painful. What have any of you used either in your yard

or on the body to combat mosquitos? Citronella-based products don't

really work around here - think the jungle!
