Air date: Wednesday, June 25, 2008, 1:00:00 PM Description: Caring for a loved one? Learn about the impact caregiving is having on your health. Learn simple tips to preserve your health while caring for a loved one. Hear about programs specifically developed to support you. This satellite broadcast will provide caregivers and providers with information on: the impact caregiving can have on health, self-care tips for caregivers, the approaches taken by several organizations to support family caregivers, and spotlight several innovative programs that encourage caregivers to care more for than own health. This satellite broadcast is presented by the Department of Health and Human Services New Freedom Initiative (NFI) Subcommittee on Caregiving in partnership with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The NFI is a government wide effort directed at eliminating the barriers that prevent people with disabilities from participating in full community life.
