Hi everyone! We have a new family joining us today. Here is what they had to

say....

Hello,

My name is Eleni and I have a 6 year old son with MDS who was diagnosed at the

age of 5.

I would love to meet other parents that are in my shoes because there is a lot

of frustration going on in our life right now between trying to figure out what

" really " needs at school and what he doesn't need. The school sees

as a high functioning boy who is able to access his curriculum physically

and his only deficit in their eyes is 'speech'.

I want to meet other parents to find out if there is a child in a school system

that has down syndrome or mds that does not receive occupational

therapy or physical therapy in school?

Welcome Eleni and ! You have come to the right place to find your answers

to some of your questions. Know that you are not alone, someone from this egroup

has been there before.

I also, would like to mention that IMDSA holds a Research

and Awareness Conference once every two years. We are having one this year in

Orlando,Fl in July. I would highly recommend you attending this conference. Not

only would you meet others with mDs, but you will learn so much from the great

workshops that are held on Saturday and Sunday. Here is more
