Guest guest
, I have worked in that situation for many years. You need to visit the doctors and keep in communication with them. Let them know that you are willing to develop programs that they feel are not offered or offered well at the hospitals. Let them know if getting to and parking at your facility is easier than going to the hospital. It can be helpful to do a quarterly utilization and outcome study to show them that you provide efficient and effective services. We designed and had our own rehab prescription pad and made sure that they always had several in their office. MD's don't want to read Rehab notes so be sure that your written and verbal communication is short, organized and concise. Lastly, get to know the office manager and referral coordinators. If they like you then you'll get faster access to the doctors. Good luck! email me if you have any other questions.
