Guest guest
Thanks again to all who responded. I truly take all your advice into consideration. I'm not sure if I mentioned this already as I'm honestly losing my mind. I've had the same PCP since 1994, and that's because he took over the practice for my former Dr. As for my urologist, I've been with him since 1989. I've never changed drs. and am afraid to, as I don't do well with any kind of change. I've always been upfront with all my Drs. about the pain I'm in and the symptoms and take every med that they advise . Maybe I put too much faith in my Drs. Right now I started steroids as my Dr. gave them to my 2 weeks ago, but wanted to wait to start them, in case they made me sick. With my " Ruined " vacation coming up, I didn't want to put a damper on that. Too bad it happened anyway. I'd like to write a letter to my PCP, but right now I'm still too angry and hurt by what he did and how I was treated. I don't want to say things in an uncalled for manner. Maybe I should wait until I calm down, if that ever happens. I have a recheck coming up on Sept. 7 or 9th and I'm already a nervous wreck about going. However, he had told me he would be willing to change my antidepressant after my pain issues were resolved with my back, side and head. He was going to try me on Cymbalta as that's one of the only one I haven't tried. My Dr. told me that med might help with my pain symptoms as well. Does your PCP have to refer you to a pain management Dr??? If he's not willing to up my dosage of meds as he fears my body is dependant, then I can't see why he wouldn't refer me to someone who WOULD. I'm also wondering if anyone on here has had problems with ovarian cysts and if these would show up on an ultrasound or cat scan?? I don't mean to be stupid, but I've found that several days before my period, the pain gets unbearable and it feels like kidney stones. The pain has gotten a little better since I got my period yesterday. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again. You guys truly are a blessing!
