Guest guest
My dear sweet cousin, , was on the 105th floor of the first tower to be hit. He just started his job there as a bond trader the week before. We are told there were no survivors on that floor as the plane hit at the 99th floor and all above were probably incinerated. Guest guest
Pam My deepest sympathies if your fears for are proven. This senseless action is beyond all our comprehensions. At this time our thoughts go out to all the families who have lost loved ones or have someone missing. God bless. . -----Original Message----- From: zahep@... Guest guest
Truly sorry to hear that Pam. People's stories that I've seen on CNN and MSNBC are really heart-renching. There is a feeling of helplessness one gets when watching and hearing about those things. You just feel like doing something, but there is nothing we can do but pray. Many of us on this group can't even give blood. At least I know that many of my countrymen are already there or on the way to help out: paramedics, coroner's teams, a special team Canada has to search disaster sites for survivors and bodies, including dogs. Some army units are on quick standby in case they might be needed. One interesting example is a team of paramedics from Windsor Ontario (that's near Detroit) who took it upon themselves to get in their ambulance and drive to NY overnight on Tuesday, a 14 hour drive, to help out in any way they can. At noon today, the Government of Canada is holding a national memorial on Parliament Hill right here in Ottawa for the victims, complete with Honour Guard. It's hard to even conceive of the fact that the next time I go to New York, the World Trade Centre won't be on the skyline. Guest guest
Pierre, I was truly touched to see that service and and see how many Canadians were holding and displaying American flags. I expected to see their outpouring of compassion and emotion; but to see that with the flags was such a sign of respect and and love that it made me cry. Thanks, Clair > Truly sorry to hear that Pam. > > People's stories that I've seen on CNN and MSNBC are really heart- renching. > There is a feeling of helplessness one gets when watching and hearing about > those things. Guest guest
, you didn't upset me. I just know not everyone will agree on any topic such as this. Marty Re: Re: Thoughts and Prayers Date: Fri, 14 Sep 2001 15:29:48 -0400 (EDT) Pam, I'm so so sorry. I can't do much more but offer my condolences but if it's any consolation I've made a decision never to sit idly by while people allow unacceptable behaviors to pass unchallenged using the reason "it's none of my business". Humanity is my business. If I didn't already know that, the events in Aemrica on Tuesday could leave no doubt about it at all. We are all family. God bless you all. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
